Cancer is also a disease which has numerous reputable charities dedicated to it. It's not like Livestrong is (or should the case be "was" now?) the only one.

Because the success of the charity was based on Armstrong beating cancer and then going on to, by his own accomplishments, win the Tour De France multiple times. He was considered to be a hero, but in the end he was just cheating like everyone else.

Lance Armstrong went onto Oprah to confirm that he is in fact a cheating hack; MAD Magazine placed him at number 5 on their top 20 list of dumbest people, events and things of 2012 back in December.
