Re: Bioshock: Infinite
Gather Your Party did a review of Infinite and practically everything Delio Pera says about the game hits home and hits hard.

Re: The Legend of Korra, because it deserves its own thread
I'm sort of looking forward to the second season, sort of not. On one hand, they could fix some of the gaps they had, especially in character development. ...on the other, they could just keep plowing down the way they have been and make things even more disappointing. Even if they fix some things ...

We already saw the other instances of tyranny on the previous pages; this one seems to be trying to drive it home a bit too hard.

Re: Bioshock: Infinite
I agree princess brothel. I really wish that there was more discussion about how it was built, how they got people to join the city, the (apparent) discussions that the US government had regarding its funding and creation, and so forth. Lore is always important, especially lore regarding the origins...

Re: Metal Gear: NANOMACHINES, SON.
But I thought BB's whole thing was that he spared the lives of his enemies so that they would join him, which is why Gray Fox hangs with him and not whatever happened in POOPS. What I'm thinking is that by the time Mother Base explodes and (I assume) Phantom Pain begins, Big Boss is done playing Mr...

Re: Doctor Who
I don't like the concept of Doctors meeting. It just doesn't appeal to me. If you want to feature previous Doctors, I'd rather they be working towards the same goal at different points in time and space, without realising it. Sort of like the way the Pandorica Opens started out in all those differe...

Re: Metal Gear: NANOMACHINES, SON.
There is a rumor going around that this might be like MGS2, in which you start off as BB but then switch to another character after a little bit of game play. The reason people think this, is that during the trailer, when BB and someone else (forget their name) are lying down on some hospital beds ...

Re: Bioshock: Infinite
you seem to be under the slight notion also that this is a bad thing because it's a new thing? I don't think all new game mechanics are bad. I think it's a bad thing that so many games use it rather than coming up with something different. You see, my primary argument is that it seems like game dev...

Re: Bioshock: Infinite
It's a bad thing because Irrational, with all their creativity, couldn't come up with something better than, or go without altogether, the now-standard regenerating life/shield/something-that-makes-you-not-die mechanic that so many games these days have. And if you're stuck in an area with low life,...

Re: Bioshock: Infinite
I never said anything like "it's more tactical to have 7~ medkits on hand if anything goes vaguely wrong instead of having to manage cover". What I'm saying is that I they could have come up with a health-preserving mechanic or mechanics better than a regenerating shield that you're forced to pick u...

Re: General Game Gabbin'
The type of tool would make the most sense. Plasma charges, bullets, hydraulic fluid, tesla charges, telemetry stuff, fuel for the flamethrower/ice gun... And you would obviously get different kinds of ammo if you strapped a secondary weapon on your gun, so you could get a total of four different am...

Re: Bioshock: Infinite
-The shield: it could have easily been replaced with "damage resistance" in the Infusion selection screen, or there could have been more ways to regain lost health altogether. Having a regenerating shield in a BioShock game is just ridiculous and yes, even more ridiculous than a flying city where p...

Re: General Game Gabbin'
Yeah, it is optional, and I commend Visceral for that. However, I still think that the game could've been better if they just stuck with Isaac only and maybe had Carver playable for a solo DLC campaign or something. For example, they could have spent more time on optional missions on the planet to m...
